Abe Gumroyan

Frank ValerianiAbe Gumroyan is senior at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is currently a jazz performance major and plays both electric and upright bass in UNLV Jazz Ensemble I under the direction of Dave Loeb and Bruce Paulson.
Abe grew up in Los Angeles and attended The Hamilton High School for The Performing Arts in tenth grade and, after moving with his family to Las Vegas, graduated from Las Vegas Academy of Performing and Visual Arts and International Studies in 2002. While at the Las Vegas Academy, he participated in Honor Band and Honor Jazz Band at the local and state levels.

Abe has had the opportunity to play with many outstanding musicians at UNLV including Chris Potter, Bob Sheppard, Bobby Shew, Wayne Bergeron and many others. Mr. Gumroyan is also one of the four recipients of the coveted Liberace Foundation Jazz Quartet honor for the academic year 2007-2008. In addition, Abe has continued to earn the honor of being selected as one of the six Joe Williams Everyday Foundation Scholarship winners for 2007-2008.
